Ride of Silence Participants Witness High Speed Chase

About 30 riders participated in this year’s Ride of Silence, a memorial ride to honor those cyclists who have been killed or injured in traffic accidents. This year was the fifth year the Ride has been observed in the area. The group had police escorts this year, although they lost one of the police cars when a car going at high speed blew through the Hardin Street/King Street intersection. Luckily, the driver of the car was quickly apprehended, no one was hurt, and the ride was able to continue without incident.
